Audition Notice
Mountain West Ballet will hold open auditions for A Midsummer Night's Dream to be performed on May 9, 10, and 12, 2025 at The Sandy Amphitheater. Rehearsals begin the weekend of Feb 28, 2025.
YOUNG DANCER AGE REQUIREMENT
Boys & Girls intending to audition for the ballet must be 8 years old by the audition date of February 22, 2025.
BALLET TRAINING REQUIREMENT
Dancers must be able to demonstrate age-appropriate ballet techniques and have a solid understanding of ballet vocabulary. Dancers must be currently enrolled in a ballet school or studio on a year-round basis and with a minimum of one year of ballet training. Dancers must continue ballet training throughout the production. MWB reserves the right to verify the dancer's enrollment in a program. For questions, contact MWB 801-572-6222 with questions.
STEP 1: ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION (AVAILABLE 2/2/2025 - 2/16/2025) Online Pre-registration Form
All dancers must complete and submit the online pre-registration form before attending Dancer Registration (Step 3). The deadline for pre-registration is Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Please do not wait until the last day or hour to complete this step. Late registration will not be available.
If registering multiple children, please submit a separate form for each dancer.
STEP 2: COMPLETE ONLINE PARENT/DANCER ORIENTATION Dancer Orientation Form
This mandatory Google Form must be completed by 2/16/2025 by:
- Parents of dancers ages 8-17
- Dancers 18 and older
It may be helpful for parents and dancers who manage their own hair and makeup to complete the form together. Parents are responsible for ensuring younger dancers receive all orientation information. Failure to complete this step will make the dancer ineligible to audition.
STEP 3: DANCER REGISTRATION AT MOUNTAIN WEST BALLET
Dancers must attend registration in person—no exceptions. Any dancer who does not complete this step will not be allowed to audition.
Location: Mountain West Ballet, 8731 S Sandy Parkway #106, Sandy, Utah
Dates:
- Tuesday, February 18, 2025, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
- Wednesday, February 19, 2025, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
During registration, dancers will receive audition details and instructions. When you are done with the registration, you are free to leave.
Fees due at registration
Audition Fee: $10, Non-refundable.
- Payable by cash, check, or credit card (+$2 non-refundable service charge for credit card payments)
- If paying by check, this fee must be separate from the performance fee
- Checks payable to Mountain West Ballet (MWB)
Performance Fee: $55, Non-refundable, unless the dancer withdraws before the RSVP deadline
- Refundable only if the dancer withdraws by Wednesday, February 28, 2025, at 6:00 PM
- Includes a cast t-shirt and online production video download
- Payable by cash, check, or credit card (+$2 non-refundable service charge for credit card payments)
- If paying by check, this fee must be separate from the audition fee
STEP 4: ATTEND AUDITION
Dancers must complete Steps 1, 2, and 3 (Online Pre-registration, Parent/Dancer Orientation, and Dancer Registration) before auditioning.
Audition Date: Saturday, February 22, 2025. Specific audition times and instructions are given at the Dancer Registration.
Audition Location: Mount Jordan Middle School 9351 Mountaineer Ln, Sandy, UT 84070.
